Spiral welded steel pipe is produced by forming steel coil into a spiral shape and welding the edges together with a continuous helical weld. This method allows large diameters and various wall thicknesses to be manufactured economically. Spiral welded steel pipe is widely used in water transmission lines, wastewater and storm water collectors, oil and gas pipelines, industrial process lines and structural applications such as piles and casings. Wherever long service life, high strength and reliable performance are required, spiral welded steel pipe offers a safe and cost-effective solution.

How is spiral welded steel pipe tested for quality and safety?

Each spiral welded steel pipe is produced from certified steel coils and manufactured on automatic welding lines where parameters are continuously monitored. During and after production, non-destructive tests such as ultrasonic inspection and visual weld checks are applied, followed by dimensional controls for diameter, wall thickness and straightness. When required by the project, hydrostatic pressure tests are also carried out to verify the pipe’s performance under operating conditions. Only spiral welded steel pipe that successfully passes all tests is released for coating, marking and shipment to the project site.

Which coating options are available for spiral welded steel pipe?
